Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1/2 lb thinly sliced beef steaks (such as ribeye)

1 medium onion, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup provolone cheese, shredded

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and green bell peppers, sautéing until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced beef to the other side. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned, about 3-4 minutes, then combine with the veggies, and remove from heat.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 14x10 inches.

Evenly spread the beef and vegetable mixture along the center of the dough, leaving a border around the edges.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese over the meat and vegetables.

Carefully fold the sides of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal the edges, creating a log shape. Place the stromboli seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg to give it a golden color when baked.

Use a sharp knife to make a few diagonal slashes on top of the dough to allow steam to escape.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing.

                          Prep Time: 20 min | Total Time: 45 min | Servings: 4-6

                            - Presentation Tips: Slice the stromboli into thick pieces and serve on a wooden board. You can accompany it with a side of marinara sauce for dipping and garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color.
