Ingredients

2 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp salt

1 large egg

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

Oil for frying

1 cup powdered sugar (for glazing)

2-3 tbsp apple cider (for glazing)

Instructions

Prepare the Apples: Start by peeling and dicing the apples into small, bite-sized pieces. Set aside.

Make the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, beat the egg, and then add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just mixed. Gently fold in the diced apples, ensuring they are evenly coated with the batter.

Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or a frying pan, heat about 2 inches of oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Form Fritter Bites: Using a tablespoon, carefully drop small mounds of batter into the hot oil. Don’t overcrowd the pan; work in batches if necessary.

Fry Until Golden: Fry the fritter bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar and apple cider, mixing until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more cider if necessary.

Glaze the Bites: Once the fritter bites are slightly cooled, dip them into the glaze or drizzle the glaze on top.

Serve: Serve warm and enjoy your delicious Apple Fritter Bites Delight!
