Ingredients

4 cups water

4 tablespoons Thai tea leaves (or black loose-leaf tea as an alternative)

4 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)

1 cup evaporated milk (or coconut milk for a vegan option)

Ice cubes

1-2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

Boil the Water: In a medium saucepan, bring the 4 cups of water to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Steep the Tea: Once boiling, remove from heat and add the Thai tea leaves. Allow them to steep for about 10-15 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.

Strain the Tea: After steeping, strain the tea using a fine-mesh strainer into a heat-resistant pitcher or bowl to remove the tea leaves.

Sweeten the Tea: Stir in the sugar while the tea is still warm to ensure it dissolves completely. Taste and adjust the sweetness if necessary. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

Prepare for Serving: Once cooled, fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the brewed Thai tea over the ice, filling each glass about 2/3 full.

Add Creaminess: Slowly pour the evaporated milk over the tea; you can adjust the quantity according to how creamy you'd like it. For a twist, drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the top for an added layer of sweetness.

Mix and Enjoy: Stir the drink gently to mix the milk throughout. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Thai iced tea!
