Ingredients

4 large croissants

200g thinly sliced cooked ham

150g grated Gruyère cheese (or your favorite cheese)

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Slice each croissant in half horizontally, being careful not to cut all the way through.

In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard and honey until well combined.

Spread a thin layer of the mustard-honey mixture inside each croissant.

Place a few slices of ham inside each croissant, followed by a generous handful of grated Gruyère cheese.

If using, sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over the cheese for added flavor.

Close the croissants gently and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush the tops of the croissants with melted butter and season with freshly ground black pepper.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Let them cool slightly before serving.
