Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup marinara sauce

4 sub rolls

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Make Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the Meatballs: Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

Heat the Marinara Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warm.

Assemble the Subs: Once the meatballs are cooked, take the sub rolls and slice them open. Place several meatballs inside each roll and spoon marinara sauce over them.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the meatballs and sauce.

Melt the Cheese: Place the assembled subs on a baking sheet and return to the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve immediately.
