Ingredients

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 large egg, beaten

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian seasoned)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Oil for frying (vegetable or olive oil)

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until evenly combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Take small portions of the cheese mixture (about 1 tablespoon each) and form them into bite-sized balls.

Roll each cheese ball in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated.

After coating with flour, dip each ball into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off.

Afterwards, roll the balls in the breadcrumbs until they are fully covered.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot (around 350°F/175°C). Carefully add the cheese bites in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the bites and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Serve warm, and enjoy with a side of marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
