Ingredients

2 cups water

2 tablespoons loose Earl Grey tea (or 2 tea bags)

1 cup cherries, pitted and halved (fresh or frozen)

2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)

1 cup milk (whole, almond, or oat)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fresh cherries and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

Once boiling, add the loose Earl Grey tea or tea bags and let steep for about 5 minutes.

(For a stronger flavor, steep an additional 2-3 minutes.)

In a separate saucepan, combine the pitted cherries and sugar. Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cherries break down and release their juices, creating a cherry syrup.

Remove the cherry mixture from heat and strain it through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to separate the juice from the solids. Set aside the syrup.

After steeping the tea, strain it into a large pitcher or bowl. Add the cherry syrup to the brewed tea, stirring to combine.

Slowly pour in the milk and stir. Add the vanilla extract and mix well to combine all flavors.

Taste the tea and adjust sweetness if necessary.

To serve, pour the Cherry Earl Grey Milk Tea into glasses filled with ice or serve warm. Garnish with fresh cherries and mint leaves if desired.
