Ingredients

2 large oranges

1 cup dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa), chopped

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for a smoother coating)

Sea salt, for garnish

¼ teaspoon orange zest (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

Prepare the Oranges: Wash the oranges thoroughly and slice them into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Remove any seeds and pat them dry with a paper towel.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler method on the stovetop.

Dip the Orange Slices: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Dip each orange slice into the melted chocolate, making sure to coat it evenly. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing the slice onto the prepared baking sheet.

Garnish and Chill: If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt and a dash of orange zest on top of the chocolate-coated slices. Once all slices are dipped, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set.

Serve: Once the chocolate has hardened, remove the slices from the refrigerator. You can serve them immediately or store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 8 slices (depending on the size of the oranges)
