Ingredients

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

½ cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add the granulated sugar to the dry ingredients and mix well.

In another bowl, combine the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well blended.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring until combined.

Carefully add the boiling water to the batter and mix until smooth. The batter will be thin.

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 12 slices

                        - Presentation Tips: Once the cakes are completely cool, frost with your favorite chocolate frosting between the layers and on top. Decorate with chocolate shavings or berries for a delightful touch.
