1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1/2 cup buttermilk

For the Cookie Dough Filling:

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

For the Frosting:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

Make the Cupcake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, beat together the softened butter, eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk until smooth. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.

Bake the Cupcakes: Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.

Prepare the Cookie Dough Filling: In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract, then gradually mix in the heat-treated flour and salt. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.

Core the Cupcakes: Once the cupcakes are cool, use a small paring knife or a cupcake corer to remove a small section from the center of each cupcake.

Fill the Cupcakes: Spoon or pipe the cookie dough mixture into the center of each cored cupcake.

Make the Frosting: In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until creamy and fluffy. You can adjust the milk to get your desired consistency.

Frost the Cupcakes: Generously pipe or spread the frosting over each filled cupcake.

Garnish: Sprinkle the tops of the frosted cupcakes with mini chocolate chips for decoration.
