Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons orange zest (from about 2 oranges)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup white chocolate chips

1/2 cup crushed freeze-dried oranges (optional for a flavor burst)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the orange zest and vanilla extract until incorporated.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in the white chocolate chips and crushed freeze-dried oranges (if using) to add extra flavor and texture.

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The tops may still appear soft; they will firm up while cooling.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
