Ingredients

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

8 ounces spaghetti or linguine

1 cup sliced mushrooms

1 cup frozen peas

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Vegetables: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms; cook until the mushrooms are tender.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, then add the thyme and basil. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combine Chicken and Peas: Add the shredded chicken and frozen peas to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well, allowing the chicken to heat through.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta and the creamy chicken mixture. Toss until the pasta is well coated.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Evenly spread the mixture to ensure even cooking.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan over the top of the pasta mixture, creating a cheesy layer.

Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
