Ingredients

20 jumbo pasta shells

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cups marinara sauce

1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, and thyme)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the jumbo pasta shells and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are soft, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Mix the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, the egg, Italian herbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Stuff the Shells: Take a spoonful of the beef and ricotta mixture and carefully stuff each jumbo pasta shell. Place the stuffed shells seam-side up in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Add Marinara Sauce: Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the stuffed shells, covering them generously. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve: Let the dish cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your creamy stuffed shells!
