Ingredients

2 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and cut into wedges

1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup unsweetened apple juice

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

¼ cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) - optional

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together. Set aside.

Take a wedge of apple and roll it in crescent roll dough starting from the wide end. Pinch the edges to seal. Repeat this step for all apple wedges.

Place the wrapped apple dumplings in the prepared baking dish, ensuring they are placed close together.

In another bowl, mix together the melted butter and apple juice. Pour this mixture evenly over the dumplings.

Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mixture over the top of the dumplings. If using, sprinkle the chopped nuts for added crunch.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the crescent dough is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with the remaining sauce from the baking dish.
