1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup mini marshmallows (for a gooey center)

Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

      In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and well combined.

        Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, beating until fully incorporated.

          Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined—be careful not to overmix.

            Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and mini marshmallows until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

              Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls, then place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.

                Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.

                  Remove from the oven, and let the cookies sit on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

                    Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar if desired for an extra touch of sweetness.
