Ingredients

1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, ground ginger, black pepper, salt, and apple cider vinegar. Whisk until the brown sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well blended.

Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 10 minutes (or longer if you have time).

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.

Cook the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade (keep the marinade for later) and place it in the hot skillet. Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).

Add the Marinade: Once the chicken is cooked through, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Allow it to simmer for about 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat and garnish the chicken with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot with steamed rice or your favorite side dishes.
