Ingredients

12 mozzarella string cheese sticks

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian seasoned)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon paprika

Marinara sauce, for dipping

Oil for frying (canola or vegetable oil)

Instructions

Prep the Cheese: Unwrap the mozzarella sticks and place them in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This step helps keep them from melting too quickly during frying.

Set Up the Breading Station: In three separate shallow dishes, set up your breading station with flour in the first, beaten eggs in the second, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and paprika in the third.

Breading Process: Take each cheese stick from the freezer, coat it in flour, dip it in the beaten eggs, and then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated. For an extra crunch, you can double-dip by repeating the egg and breadcrumb steps.

Fry the Sticks: Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat (around 350°F or 175°C). Once the oil is hot, carefully add the mozzarella sticks in batches, frying them for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serve: Serve the mozzarella sticks warm with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
