Ingredients

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

1 pound breakfast sausage, crumbled

1 cup milk

1 cup heavy cream

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the biscuits: Open the can of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. Set aside.

Cook the sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the crumbled breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Use a spatula to break it into small pieces. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Make the gravy: Reduce the heat to medium-low, sprinkle the cooked sausage with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

Whisk the eggs: In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Layer the casserole: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the quartered biscuit pieces evenly. Pour the cooked sausage and gravy mixture over the biscuits. Then, pour the beaten eggs over everything, ensuring an even distribution.

Add cheese: Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish & serve: Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Cut into squares and serve warm.
