Ingredients

1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spiciness)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup all-purpose flour

Oil, for frying

8 slider buns

Lettuce leaves

Pickles (optional)

Honey mustard or your preferred sauce

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for deeper flavor).

Prepare for Frying: After marinating, remove the chicken from the fridge. In a separate shallow dish, place the flour. Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour, pressing gently to ensure a good coating.

Heat Oil: In a deep skillet or frying pot, heat oil over medium heat. You'll need enough oil to fully submerge the chicken parts (about 2 inches deep). The oil is ready when a drop of flour sizzles upon contact.

Fry the Chicken: Carefully add the coated chicken to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and has an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Remove the chicken and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Assemble the Sliders: Slice the slider buns in half. Place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom half of each bun. Add a lettuce leaf and a few pickles if using. Drizzle with honey mustard or your chosen sauce, then cap with the top half of the bun.

Serve: Arrange the sliders on a platter, and serve hot with additional honey mustard on the side for dipping.
