Ingredients

1 package of wonton wrappers

1 cup ground pork (or chicken)

1/2 cup finely chopped green onion

1/4 cup shredded carrots

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork (or chicken), chopped green onion, shredded carrots, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center.

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger.

Fold the wrapper over to create a triangle, pressing the edges to seal tightly, ensuring no air bubbles are left inside.

For a fun twist, you can make decorative pleats along the edges before sealing fully.

Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the filled wontons in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serve hot with a side of sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping.
