Begin by patting the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant but not browned.
Carefully place the tilapia fillets in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown.
Gently flip the fillets over and pour the lemon juice and zest over them. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the chopped parsley over the tilapia.
Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
