Ingredients

300g spaghetti or fettuccine

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

6 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and black pepper to taste

Zest of 1 lemon

Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta of your choice and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to let it brown.

Season: Sprinkle in the red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the melted garlic butter. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional minute to infuse the flavors.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta in the garlic butter sauce. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add reserved pasta water, a few tablespoons at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.

Finish with Cheese and Herbs: Remove the skillet from the heat, and stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and lemon zest. Toss everything gently to combine.

Serve: Divide the pasta into serving plates. Garnish each serving with additional Parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, and a lemon wedge on the side for squeezing.

                - Presentation Tips: Serve the pasta in deep bowls for a rustic feel, sprinkle with extra parsley and Parmesan, and place the lemon wedges artfully beside each plate for added color and freshness.
