Ingredients

1 lb ground lamb (or beef, or a mix of both)

1 small onion, finely grated

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 egg, lightly beaten

2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, grated onion, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, chopped parsley, and the lightly beaten egg.

Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands or a spoon until well combined.

Shape the mixture into a loaf or form into cylindrical shapes, depending on preference.

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the shaped gyro meat into the skillet.

Cook for about 10-12 minutes on each side, or until well browned on the outside and cooked through. Ensure an internal temperature of at least 160°F (70°C).

Once cooked, allow the meat to rest for a few minutes before slicing.
