Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup diced cooked ham

1 ½ cups buttermilk

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

2 tablespoons honey (optional, for a hint of sweetness)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or skillet.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.

Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and diced ham until evenly distributed throughout the dry ingredients.

Pour in the buttermilk and mix until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix; some lumps are okay.

Pour the melted butter into the prepared baking dish, ensuring it coats the bottom evenly.

Pour the biscuit batter over the melted butter, letting it spread out naturally (do not stir).

For a touch of sweetness, drizzle the honey over the top of the batter if desired.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

                    Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 8-10

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve warm, cutting the biscuits into squares straight from the baking dish. For extra flair, sprinkle some fresh chopped parsley or chives on top for a pop of color. Enjoy with a side of honey or butter for dipping!
