Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 pound bulk Italian sausage

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 package of rye cocktail bread (or any small bread of your choice)

Optional toppings: sliced olives, chopped green onions, or diced tomatoes

Instructions

Cook the Meats: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage together until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

Sauté the Aromatics: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

Melt and Mix: Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the softened cream cheese and Worcestershire sauce, mixing until everything is well combined and the cream cheese is melted and smooth.

Add the Cheese and Spices: Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, chili powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir until the cheese is melted and fully incorporated.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Assemble the Sandwiches: Place the rye cocktail bread on a baking sheet. Spoon a generous amount of the meat mixture onto each piece of bread.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are bubbly and slightly golden.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Add any optional toppings before serving warm to your guests.
