Ingredients

8 Hawaiian rolls

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 pinch of salt

Butter (for cooking)

Fresh fruit (pineapple, strawberries, or bananas) for topping

Maple syrup for serving

Powdered sugar for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt until well combined. Set aside.

Slice the Rolls: Carefully slice each Hawaiian roll in half to create a top and bottom. This will help soak in the egg mixture more evenly.

Soak the Rolls: Dip each half of the Hawaiian roll into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds until well coated but not falling apart. Shake off any excess liquid.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or griddle, melt a tablespoon of butter over medium heat until it is golden and bubbly.

Cook the French Toast: Place the soaked rolls in the skillet, cut side down. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside. Flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.

Serve: Remove from the skillet and serve warm. Top with fresh fruit, a generous drizzle of maple syrup, and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.

Enjoy: Dive in and savor the delightful tropical flavors!
