Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar

3/4 cup warm water (110°F)

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, then pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Form it into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a kitchen towel. Allow it to rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Shape the Breadsticks: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Cut the dough into strips of your desired width.

Add Toppings: Place the strips onto the prepared baking sheet. In a small bowl, mix together the mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes. Sprinkle this cheesy mixture generously over the breadsticks.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
