Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)

1/2 cup olive oil

Instructions

Start by marinating the chicken. In a bowl, combine chicken breasts and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for best flavor).

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, pepper, and salt.

In another bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese and panko breadcrumbs until evenly mixed.

Remove the chicken breasts from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture, coating well.

Next, dip the floured chicken breasts into the Parmesan and breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the coating adheres well.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, carefully add the coated chicken breasts, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. You might need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.

After browning, transfer the chicken to the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is cooked through.

Optional: Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley before serving for a pop of color.

                    Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes | Servings: 4

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the Parmesan crusted chicken on a platter with lemon wedges and fresh parsley sprinkled on top. Pair with a side salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
