4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/4 cup honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions
 

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper until well combined.

    Place the chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the honey garlic marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).

      Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

        In an oven-safe skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, remove the chicken from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and sear the thighs for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

          Once the chicken is seared, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet over the chicken.

            Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is cooked through.

              Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

                Serve the honey garlic chicken over a bed of cooked rice or quinoa. Drizzle with any leftover sauce from the skillet and garnish with sliced green onions.
