Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornstarch

1 tablespoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Vegetable oil for frying

1/4 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk, adding a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to ensure tenderness and flavor absorption.

Prepare the Breading: In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). To test, drop a pinch of the breading mixture in; it should sizzle immediately.

Coat the Shrimp: Remove the marinated shrimp from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture until fully coated, then shake off the excess.

Fry the Shrimp: Carefully place the coated shrimp in the hot oil in small batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the hot honey and lemon juice to balance the flavors.

Glaze the Shrimp: In a large bowl, toss the fried shrimp with the hot honey sauce until well coated.

Serve: Arrange the shrimp on a serving platter and drizzle any remaining hot honey sauce over the top.

                  - Presentation Tips: Garnish the shrimp with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of freshness.
