Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tsp garlic powder

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for a hint of spice)

2 tbsp olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, minced garlic, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until the brown sugar is dissolved and all ingredients are well blended.

Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish. Pour half of the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).

Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, remove the chicken from the marinade and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. (Don’t overcrowd the pan; you may need to do this in batches.)

Bake the Chicken: Transfer the seared chicken to the prepared baking dish. Pour the remaining marinade over the chicken evenly.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and is cooked through. Baste the chicken with the sauce halfway through for extra flavor and moisture.

Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Enjoy: Serve the chicken with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad to balance the flavors.
