Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup diced fresh jalapeños (seeds removed for less heat)

1/4 cup crumbled bacon (cooked and crispy)

1/4 cup green onions, chopped

1 cup bread crumbs (panko works best)

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, diced jalapeños, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Season the mixture with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.

Refrigerate the mixture for about 30 minutes to help it firm up, making it easier to roll into balls.

Once chilled, use a cookie scoop or your hands to form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Set up a dredging station: In one bowl, place the flour; in another bowl, beat the two eggs; and in a third bowl, add the bread crumbs.

Roll each cheese ball in the flour first, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally, coat it in the bread crumbs. Ensure each ball is well-coated.

Heat oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat (about 350°F or 175°C).

Carefully drop a few cheese balls into the hot oil at a time, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the cheese balls from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or sriracha mayo.
