Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

2 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp brown sugar

2 tsp sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

4 green onions, chopped (whites and greens separated)

1/2 cup carrots, finely shredded

1/2 cup broccoli florets (steamed)

2 cups cooked jasmine rice (or rice of your choice)

1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste) - adjust to taste

1 tsp sesame seeds

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Use a spatula to break it up, cooking until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and the whites of the green onions. Cook for another minute until fragrant.

Season the Beef: Add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and gochujang to the skillet. Mix well and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is well combined and slightly thickened. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Stir in Veggies: Mix in the shredded carrots and steamed broccoli. Allow them to warm through for about 2 minutes.

Assemble the Bowl: In serving bowls, place a generous scoop of cooked jasmine rice. Top with the Korean ground beef mixture.

Garnish: Sprinkle sesame seeds and the green part of the chopped green onions on top for a fresh crunch. Serve immediately.
