Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced

2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled

1 cup sour cream

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a large baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.

Layer one-third of the sliced potatoes evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Pour one-third of the cream mixture over the potatoes evenly. Sprinkle one-third of the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the crumbled bacon over the top.

Repeat the layers two more times: potatoes, cream mixture, cheddar cheese, and bacon. Finish with a final layer of the cream mixture and a generous amount of cheddar cheese on top.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly, and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

Once cooked, let the dish sit for about 10 minutes before serving to allow the layers to set.

Before serving, garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh touch.

                    Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes | Servings: 6-8
