8 oz fettuccine pasta

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Crushed red pepper flakes, for a hint of spice (optional)

Cook the Pasta: Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

    Prepare the Chicken: While the pasta is cooking, season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F). Remove from the skillet and set aside to rest.

      Create the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the cherry tomatoes and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they soften. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine.

        Season the Sauce: Add the dried Italian herbs and Parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens slightly. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

          Combine Everything: Slice the cooked chicken into strips and add it back to the skillet along with the cooked fettuccine. Toss everything together gently to coat the pasta and chicken in the creamy sauce.

            Serve: Divide the chicken pasta among plates or bowls, garnishing with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
