Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

1/2 cup white chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, rolled oats, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Egg and Vanilla: Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until well combined.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in Chips and Nuts: Gently fold in the milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and chopped pecans (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look slightly underbaked (they will set as they cool).

Cool: Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve and Enjoy: Share these delightful cookies with your loved ones, and prepare for the compliments to flow!
