Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1/2 pound ground pork

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

4 sub rolls

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.

While the meatballs are baking, heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinara sauce to the skillet and bring it to a gentle simmer.

Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the skillet with the marinara sauce, stirring gently to coat the meatballs in the sauce. Allow them to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Split the sub rolls down the middle, but not all the way through, and place them on a baking sheet. Spoon a generous amount of the meatball mixture into each roll, ensuring each gets multiple meatballs and plenty of sauce.

Top each sub with shredded mozzarella cheese, then place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute; serve immediately.
