Ingredients

1 pound beef flank steak, pounded thin

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/2 cup ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Toothpicks or kitchen twine for securing

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Lay the pounded flank steak flat on a cutting board. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, ricotta, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, basil, and parsley. Mix until well incorporated.

Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the steak, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.

Roll the steak tightly from one end to the other. Secure the ends with toothpicks or tie with kitchen twine to keep the filling inside.

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the rolled braciole and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.

Once browned, pour the marinara sauce over the seared braciole, cover with a lid or aluminum foil, and transfer to the oven.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

Remove from the oven, let rest for 5-10 minutes, then carefully slice into rounds.
