Ingredients

12 mozzarella cheese sticks

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Vegetable oil for frying

Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

Begin by freezing the mozzarella sticks for at least 1 hour. This will help them hold their shape during frying.

Set up your breading station: In one bowl, place the flour seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper. In a second bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth. In the third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, and a pinch of salt.

Take a mozzarella stick from the freezer and coat it in the flour, shaking off any excess.

Dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.

Finally, roll it in the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs to the stick. Repeat this process for all the mozzarella sticks.

Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). To test if the oil is ready, drop in a breadcrumb; it should sizzle immediately.

Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry them for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally for even cooking.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the mozzarella sticks and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Serve the mozzarella sticks warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

                      - Presentation Tips: Arrange the mozzarella sticks on a platter and garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color. Serve with a small bowl of marinara sauce for an appetizing touch.
