Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup whole milk, warmed

2 large eggs

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup Nutella (or your favorite hazelnut spread)

Oil for frying

Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Make the Dough: In a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine the warmed milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Shape the Donuts: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a donut cutter (or two different sized round cutters) to cut out donut shapes. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Prepare the Nutella Filling: While the donuts are rising, place Nutella in a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a corner cut off for easier filling later.

Fry the Donuts: In a deep pot or heavy skillet, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the donuts in batches for about 1-2 minutes per side or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to paper towels to drain excess oil.

Fill the Donuts: Once the donuts have cooled slightly, use the piping bag to inject Nutella into the center of each donut.

Dust and Serve: Lightly dust the filled donuts with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy these warm and gooey Nutella stuffed delights!
