Ingredients

8 oz pappardelle pasta

1 lb ground beef

1/2 lb ground pork

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

2 tbsp olive oil

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.

Stuff the Meatballs: Take about a tablespoon of the meat mixture in your hands, flatten it slightly, and place a small spoonful of ricotta cheese in the center. Fold the meat around the cheese to form a ball. Repeat this process until all the meat mixture is used. You should have about 12 stuffed meatballs.

Cook the Meatballs: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Carefully add the meatballs to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides.

Add the Marinara Sauce: Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the meatballs to cook through.

Cook the Pappardelle: While the meatballs are cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pappardelle pasta and cook according to package instructions, approximately 5-7 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Combine and Serve: Toss the cooked pappardelle with the marinara sauce and meatballs in the skillet until well coated.

Plate the Dish: Serve the pappardelle and meatballs in bowls, topped with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves for garnish.
