Ingredients
  

9 lasagna noodles (regular or oven-ready)

1 pound ground beef

6 slices of bacon, chopped

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce

1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste

1 cup ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

2 teaspoons olive oil

½ cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels, leaving about 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet.

      Brown the Beef: In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

        Combine Sauces: Stir in the tomato sauce and tomato paste to the beef mixture. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat and mix in the cooked bacon.

          Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, ½ cup of Parmesan cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until combined.

            Layer the Lasagna: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the beef and bacon mixture on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by a third of the remaining beef mixture. Repeat the layers (noodles, ricotta mixture, beef mixture).

              Top Layer: Finish with the final 3 lasagna noodles. Spread the remaining beef mixture over the top and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

                Bake: Cover with aluminum foil (to prevent sticking, you can spray the foil with cooking spray). Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

                  Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and let it stand for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
