Ingredients

1 pound of breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, depending on your preference)

2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

2 cups of all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon of baking powder

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of onion powder

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

1/4 cup of milk

1/4 cup of finely chopped green onions (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Using your hands, mix the ingredients well until you have a uniform dough. If the mixture feels too dry, gradually add the milk until it reaches a workable consistency.

If desired, fold in the finely chopped green onions for added flavor.

Scoop out about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Place the ball on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat this process until all the dough is used, spacing the balls about 1 inch apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through. You can check for doneness by cutting one in half to ensure it’s no longer pink inside.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy these delicious sausage balls warm or at room temperature!
