Prepare the Work Area: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to place the dipped Oreos on after coating. Set aside.
Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
Add Peppermint: Stir in the peppermint extract to the melted chocolate for that refreshing flavor. Mix well to ensure it's evenly distributed.
Dip the Oreos: Take each Oreo cookie and dip it into the melted chocolate. Use a fork to lift the cookie out, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
Coat with Peppermint: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle crushed peppermint candies over the top of the dipped Oreos. For added decoration, you can also sprinkle colorful sprinkles at this stage.
Chill: Place the chocolate-dipped Oreos on the prepared baking sheet and transfer them to the refrigerator to set for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate hardens completely.
Serve: Once set, the peppermint chocolate-dipped Oreos are ready to serve. Enjoy them as a festive treat or a delightful snack anytime!
