Ingredients

1 lb (450g) cooked shredded chicken

1 cup basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 package (12-count) slider buns

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix the Chicken: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, basil pesto, mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Prepare the Buns: Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom together. Place the bottom half of the buns in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Fill the Sliders: Evenly distribute the chicken and pesto mixture over the bottom half of the buns. Place the top half of the buns on top.

Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture generously over the top of the slider buns to ensure they are well-coated.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.

Serve: Let the sliders cool for a few minutes, then pull apart and serve warm. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
