Ingredients

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast

1 ½ teaspoons salt

2 tablespoons sugar

1 ¼ cups warm water (110°F or 43°C)

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the chopped rosemary and mix well.

Make a well in the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon until the dough starts to come together.

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Once risen, punch down the dough gently and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, ensuring they're close together.

Cover the rolls with a cloth again and let them rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

While the rolls are rising, prepare the garlic butter by mixing the melted butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small bowl.

Once the rolls have risen, brush half of the garlic butter mixture over the top of the rolls.

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

As soon as you take them out of the oven, brush the remaining garlic butter over the top and sprinkle with extra chopped rosemary.

Allow them to cool slightly before serving warm.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours | Servings: 12 rolls

                              - Presentation Tips: Serve the rolls on a warm bread basket lined with a linen cloth, with a small dish of remaining garlic butter on the side for dipping.
