Ingredients

1 pound breakfast sausage (regular or spicy)

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 can (10 oz) RoTel diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or olive oil.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until fully browned, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Once the sausage is cooked, reduce the heat to low and add the softened cream cheese to the skillet. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and well combined with the sausage.

Add the drained RoTel tomatoes, garlic powder, and onion powder to the sausage mixture. Stir well to incorporate all ingredients, then remove from heat and let cool for about 5 minutes.

Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean, flat surface. Separate the dough into triangles as per the perforations.

Place a generous tablespoon of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Sprinkle a little shredded cheddar cheese on top of the filling.

Roll the crescent dough around the filling, starting at the wide end and rolling towards the point. Ensure the filling is enclosed well to prevent it from leaking out during baking.

Arrange the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each for spreading.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 30 min | Servings: 10-12 crescents
