Ingredients

1 pound ground sausage (your choice of spice level)

1 10-ounce can Rotel tomatoes with green chilies, drained

1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened

1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon cumin

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Stir in the drained Rotel tomatoes, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and black pepper. Mix until the cream cheese is melted and everything is well combined. Remove from heat.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Take a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture and place it at the wider end of each triangle. Sprinkle a bit of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the filling.

Roll up each crescent from the wide end to the pointed end, tucking in the sides as you go to keep the filling secure.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown.

Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley if desired before serving.
