Ingredients

1 pound ground sausage (mild or spicy, based on preference)

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for color)

1/2 cup milk

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped parsley (if using).

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Gradually add the dry mixture to the sausage and cheese mixture, stirring until well incorporated.

Pour in the milk a little at a time, mixing until the dough is moist but not sticky. You may not need all the milk.

Use your hands to form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each ball.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).

Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 20 balls

                    - Presentation Tips: Arrange the sausage balls on a platter and serve warm with a side of spicy dipping sauce or honey mustard for a delicious contrast. Garnish with additional parsley for a fresh touch!
