Ingredients

1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

3 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Steak: Season the sirloin steak pieces with black pepper and half of the minced garlic. Let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes to enhance flavors.

Cook the Steak: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the marinated steak bites to the skillet and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the rest of the minced garlic. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, until they turn pink and opaque.

Make the Garlic Butter Soy Glaze: Lower the heat and pour in the soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil into the skillet. Stir to combine and let the mixture bubble for about 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. If you like some heat, add red pepper flakes at this stage.

Combine: Return the seared steak bites to the skillet and mix them gently with the shrimp and glaze. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to allow the steak to absorb some of the sauce.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions.
